Environment Matters

Climate change is becoming the defining issue of our time and we all; individuals, businesses and other organisations, have a shared responsibility to change our actions to reduce our “carbon footprints”.
The FBHV have carried a considerable amount of work investigating the carbon footprint of historic vehicles and have produced some excellent fact sheets.
As an organisation representing owners of historic vehicles, powered by carbon-based fuels, it is difficult to see how our hobby  can ever become “carbon neutral”, but we are making greener choices to do what we can to consume less and consume better.

  • Through the use of emails we have reduced use of paper and postage,
  • We encourage digital banking
  • We publish Windscreen on recycled paper and package it using recyclable wrapping,
  • We meet virtually whenever possible which reduces milage for participants.
Our Emissions Officer, Steve Parker, has for many years been involved in representing historic vehicles in the debates surrounding low-emission zones – read more here
