At Lancaster, we're passionate about helping safeguard our community for future generations to enjoy.
For many, the joy of being part of the classic vehicle community is sharing the pastime with other like-minded people and being able to pass this passion on to the younger generation. Our new Young Accompanied Driver endorsement helps do exactly that! It's a simple and supervised way for younger enthusiasts to get behind the wheel and for our customers to be able to share the experience of classic motoring with them, all whilst keeping their policy protected.
How it works
Whether it's driving to a local car club meet or simply enjoying an afternoon together on the open road, our Young Accompanied Driver add on is a great way to introduce younger enthusiasts to the classic car world. Customers who are insured with us through KGM can choose to include this option, allowing a younger named driver (from aged 18+) to be added to their existing policy for an additional premium.
The younger driver must have a full licence held for a minimum period of 12 months and be accompanied at all times when behind the wheel by the main policyholder, a qualified driver (either their parent or someone who is 25+ and has had a clean licence for at least three years) or a qualified driving instructor or examiner.
