GIFT AID
Being a registered Charity, and qualifying for Gift Aid, the MVT can claim back from HM Customs and Revenue £0.28p of every pound of all subscriptions and donations received by the MVT from UK Taxpayers.
The first proviso is that those members making payments of this nature must have paid the equivalent in Income or Capital Gains Tax during the year in which the subscriptions/donations were paid.
The second proviso is that we have to ask you to complete a Gift Aid Declaration and submit it online or post it to Garry Anstee, MVT Membership Secretary, 15 St. Leonards Road, Surbiton, Surrey, KT6 4DE or fax it to the Membership Secretary on +44 (0) 208 399 9560 and only then can we apply to HM Customs and Inland Revenue for the appropriate amount. Even if you have signed a Direct Debit form you need to sign the new formatted form which is statutory compliant.
It is important for you to note that signing a Gift Aid Declaration does not effect your tax position in any way unless you pay tax at a higher rate and then it is recommended that you inform your tax advisor/accountant in the usual way.
Please help the Trust and ultimately yourselves by Completing and Submitting a Gift Aid Declaration on line
