1944 Willys MB taken on Omaha Beach, 6th June 2004 during the MVT trip to Normandy for the 60th Anniversary of D-Day.

The trip was not without problems; my starter motor packed up BEFORE boarding the ferry in Portsmouth. Thanks to Mark Harvey for sorting that out. Shortly after the picture was taken, the Jeep got stuck in the sand on the beach, and on the return trip to Ouistreham I had battery problems.

I believe that the Jeep had been used by the Greek army at some stage because there were various inscriptions in Greek carved round the steering wheel,something in common with one of the other vehicles in the gallery.
