Vehicles owned by Barry Ring

1942 Willys MB "SLAT GRILLE"

Restored by myself in 2000 over 2 years. The Jeep seems to be ex US Army then Austrian Army as during the restoration I found a US plate and an Austrian Rebuild plate from 1964. Since completion of the restoration I have been to 100's of shows, done loads of off road driving as well as going on several holidays in the Jeep, its been very reliable and has covered over 10,000 miles without fault.

Marking are of my Grandfathers unit, 66 th Command, 12 th Army, RASC serving as part of the South East Asia Command in Rangoon , Burma circa 1946-7.

Indian 741B's

I have two Indian 741B, one of which I have owned since 2001 and have been to many shows with and rode in Normandy for the D-Day 60 th Tour, The second is in need of full restoration after sitting in a shed for over 30 years. Both are Ex British (common wealth Forces) motorbikes as they have both had the modification to the rear brake lever (made wider). Markings British Army but no particular unit (Yet!)

Bedford Scammel OXC

Latest toy to the collection, The Bedford has been sat on a farm for 30-40 years without turning a wheel and is in need of a fair amount restoration, which will commence this summer(2007) The vehicle still has its 1950's military markings and number in place, Royal Army Ordnance Corp, Southern Area Command. Possibly Aldershot based. Military Number 83 YY 65. Will be restored in 1950's trim.
