Austin K5 owned by Chris Baxter

The Austin Motor Company produced 12,280 K5's between 1941-1945 mainly as G.S load carriers and because of the low number of vehicles produced, the Austin K5 was mainly issued to Armoured or Artillery regiments during its wartime service.
The Austin K5 featured, chassis No 55988 was built in March 1943 by The Austin Motor Company, Longbridge, Birmingham under contract Number S2552 and issued with Army No L5192186
Re numbered in 1948 to post war registration No 18YV75 it served with the Army to 1957 and sold off for disposal in Oct 1957 at Feltham Middlesex.
Since ownership from Oct 2002 it has had extensive rebuild and restoration and engine rebuild by a good friend Gordon Beale and has travelled to Normandy in 2004 and 2009 for commemorative events.
