Various vehicles owned by Baz England-Davis, Andy Carter & Tim
Attached is a picture taken at Kemble 2007 and comprises of my Dodge Command Car (1942 - unregistered) and three Hotchkiss M201's - all have been used by the French Army in the last 60 years.
The first Hotchkiss is Andy Carters anti tank Jeep. Andy has restored this magnificent vehicle and I believe is only one of two left in existence - most get converted back to the standard M201 configuration.
The next in line is my Dodge Command Car (with winch) this was its first outing in the UK since I imported it from France. The previous owner (an antiques dealer from Paris) had added spotlamps and cut the front grille. It is currently undergoing restoration to return it to French post war army markings - as these have been discovered when the paint was being removed.
Next in line is Tim's Sahara M201 with cyclone air filter on the wing and tool box behind the front bumper. This again in original Sahara configuration is very rare.
The last vehicle is another of my Hotchkiss' a standard M201 fitted with GRC9 radio and used by civil defence for a short while before being placed in storage and bought by me at auction in the 90's.
This is a good picture as it shows the wide range of light vehicles used by the French forces from the end of the war until the early 80's - and all of them based on US designs!
